About the Flight Selection

St. Dekkera Flanders Oud Bruin

Destihl Brewery | Bloomington, IL | 7.2% ABV | $18.99/16.9 oz
A complex, Belgian-style wild beer aged for over two years in oak barrels. Each barrel contains a different base beer which undergoes spontaneous and prolonged fermentation with wild yeasts including Brettanomyces, a genus of yeast that lives on the skins of fruit in the wild. The genus name Dekkera is used interchangeably with Brettanomyces and was discovered at the Carlsberg brewery in 1904 by N. Hjelte Claussen, who was investigating it as a cause of spoilage in English ales but which is appreciated and encouraged in certain traditional Belgian-style ales.

Pennsylvania Tuxedo

Dogfish Head | Milton, DE | 8.5% ABV | 50 IBU | $3/12 oz
Spruce-infused pale ale brewed in collaboration with the family-operated outdoor clothing company Woolrich to pay homage to the flannel-suited hunters. This beer has a grassy citrus kick complemented by the resinous conifer notes of fresh green spruce tips. Dogfish picked the fresh spruce tips in the forests of Pennsylvania and Delaware. A dry, doughy malt backbone lets the hops and spruce shine while still balancing out the bitterness, making this one an easy sipper.

Icicle Brewing | Leavenworth, WA | 5% ABV | $5.29/22 oz
Finally, a beer that pays homage to the hard working folks in the Leavenworth Valley; the trail crews and farmers, the lumberjacks and firefighters, this brew is for you. With a thirsty throat in mind, this amber lager features a smooth, medium body, with a rich toasted malt aroma. The initial malty sweetness finishes fresh and clean.

Deschutes Brewery | Bend, OR | 6.8% ABV | 80 IBU | $1.59/12 oz
Enter, if you will, all the glorious aromatic complexity of the hop. This big, bold IPA’s intense multi-hop kick gets a subtle dose of restraint from select Crystal and Carastan malts. For discriminating hop heads.

The Nitty Gritty – How it Works & FAQs

  • To participate: Step up to Checkout, present your valid I.D. and pay for your tasting. Then, come on back to the Tastings counter where we’ll get your pours started.
  • Yes, you may appear to be of-age to drink, but Washington State Law requires I.D. check to confirm both legal drinking age and unexpired identification.
    “No I.D. = No Drinking.”
  • You’re welcome to share your beers with others only after they’ve presented their valid I.D. to 99 Bottles staff.
  • Feel free to browse around the shop and visit with others while you enjoy your beer tastes.
