Preorder kegs
To ensure freshness of your kegged beer, all kegs require advance order. Most kegs ordered by Tuesday arrive Friday, but are subject to distributor availability—so order your keg well in advance for special events. Some kegs require longer lead times, have limited availability, or are seasonal releases. Note, June 2010: We are seeing trickle-in increase of prices due to the Washington State tax increases on beer. Please be aware that imports and high-gravity beers may be higher than listed. Thank you.Choose from over 1,200 kegs when ordering kegs from 99 Bottles. Prices on the keg list are estimates and are subject to change (last updated June 21, 2010). The list is sorted alphabetically by country, then brewery, then label. When known, we have included information about the beer's seasonal/limited availability and special tap needs. Generally if no tap is listed, expect a Sankey tap; Sankey hand-pump taps are available for rent from 99 Bottles. If you require a tap rental, be sure to request it at time of placing your keg order as taps are reserved on a first come, first serve basis. Open a copy of the keg list (PDF) >>Keg FAQsHow much beer is in a keg?Keg sizes and the beer offered in keg sizes vary; compare the keg size listed in the keg list to the chart below. Imported beers are typically offered in import kegs, which may require a special tap. American macrobrews (think: Budweiser, Coors, Michelob, Miller) are typically offered in 1/4 and 1/2 barrels. American microbrews are offered in a variety of sizes, subject to brewery choice of delivery.
Please be aware of the weight of your full keg as you may require a friend to assist you removing it from your vehicle once you've reached your destination. How much beer should I get for my party? While that depends on how much your friends drink, certified party planners recommend an average of 3 beers per person. How much does a keg cost? The cost depends on the beer chosen; see the keg list (PDF); listed prices are estimates and are subject to change. Most sixers start around $70 and go up to over $250, depending on the beer selected. For microbrewed craft beers, most pony kegs start around $120 and half barrels start around $180. In addition to the keg cost, a keg deposit ($45) is required, but is refundable upon return of the keg. Why do you now require a credit card upon placement of keg order? When ordering your keg, we financially invest in the keg for you. Unfortunately, several individuals abused our previous "goodwill trust policy" by abandoning their orders, resulting in a financial loss to our business. Hence, 99 Bottles now requires valid credit card information upon preorder of kegs, and all abandoned orders will be charged 60% of the keg's retail price and the full keg will be returned to the distributor. An order is considered abandoned if it has not been picked up within four (4) days of notification of the keg's arrival. Notification is performed via phone or e-mail notification, including voice mail messages and messages left with third-parties or confirmation that your keg has arrived should you call in or stop by. 99 Bottles will not be held responsible for any reason of forfeiture including but not limited to if the person answering your phone doesn't relate the message, if the e-mail notification is automatically sorted into spam or delete folders, or if you forget to or otherwise neglect to pick up your keg within the allotted timeframe. Do I need any accessories? To access the beer in the keg, you'll need a tap. Most sixer kegs use a regular Sankey tap...so if you've got a kegerator in your home bar, you're probably set. However, some kegs require Euro Sankey tap (European kegs, e.g., Hoegaarden) or Soda Pop-style tap (e.g., Boundary Bay kegs). If you're having a party and don't have a kegerator, you may also need a large bucket and lots of ice to keep your keg chilled. What if I don't have a tap?99 Bottles has a supply Sankey (D System) taps available for a rental and deposit fee, read our Keg/Tap Rental Policy for details. We now have a limited supply of Euro Sankey (S System) for rent with kegs purchased from 99 Bottles. You must obtain your own taps for kegs requiring Hoff Stephens, Euro Slider (A System, G System), and other (U System, M System) couplers. Taps may be available for you to purchase from companies such as MicroMatic, KegWorks, The Beer Essentials, or Larry's Brewing Supply. I didn't plan ahead; where can I get a keg today? If you require a keg today, contact K's Deli in Seattle's Ballard district or Über Tavern in North Seattle to learn what's available for immediate pickup. We have no affiliation with these businesses and cannot guarantee the freshness of their products. Are there any discounts available?99 Bottles Club Members receive 10% off the keg price. This discount excludes keg deposit, tap deposit, and tap rental fees. What is required at time of purchase/pickup?The purchaser must present a form of valid ID with payment at time of pickup. The Washington State Liquor Control Board (WSLCB) requires completion of a "Keg Registration Declaration and Receipt," on which the purchaser must provide address keg is to be stored and/or consumed at and on which the purchaser agrees to the following terms:
Can I get a refund for unconsumed beer? No. All sales are final on beer; no returns or exchanges. Even if the keg is returned partially or fully filled with beer, only the keg deposit is refundable.
